We are working with a leading international law firm seeking an experienced Finance Systems Business Analyst to join their Finance Systems team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional with a strong background in finance systems, preferably within the legal sector, to play a key role in driving systems improvements, supporting finance transformation initiatives, and delivering strategic projects.
You’ll act as the bridge between finance, IT, and business stakeholders ensuring the smooth delivery of system enhancements, process automation, and data integrity across global operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between the Finance department, IT, and third-party vendors for system-related initiatives.
- Analyse existing financial processes and systems, identifying opportunities for automation and optimisation.
- Deliver business requirements, system specifications, and test plans for finance system implementations and upgrades.
- Support and lead projects involving finance systems such as Elite 3E and Chrome River.
- Document processes using tools such as MS Visio or MS Project, including Gantt charts and flow diagrams.
- Partner with stakeholders across departments to ensure finance systems meet operational and compliance needs.
- Provide support and guidance during user acceptance testing and training.
- Ensure systems comply with legal and financial standards and policies.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Finance Business Analyst role, ideally within professional services or legal environments.
- Background in transactional finance systems or a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong systems focus.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and complex group structures.
- Strong experience with law firm finance systems ideally Elite 3E and Chrome River.
- Excellent IT skills including process documentation (e.g. MS Visio, MS Project), Excel, and report generation tools.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
- Strong understanding of legal IT ecosystems and workflows.
