The role

As a Portfolio Advisor, you’ll work closely with Matter Managers to ensure the smooth running of client matters from start to finish. You’ll play a key role in maintaining overall matter health, encouraging the use of knowhow and technology, and managing portfolio data, best practice, and reporting.

This is a varied position that combines project support, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement. You’ll not only help teams deliver matters effectively but also contribute to wider projects that improve the way the firm works globally.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with Matter Managers to support kick-off, progress, and closing conversations for client matters
  • Coordinate meetings, pre-populate checklists, and prepare pricing/credential information using firm systems
  • Capture and circulate actions from meetings and keep stakeholders updated
  • Produce management information including RAG status reports, performance analysis, and trend data
  • Report into Matter Partners and Group Leaders with insight into KPIs and matter performance
  • Analyse pricing data, track performance trends, and support decision-making
  • Encourage the adoption of existing and new technologies, including AI and pricing tools, to improve matter delivery
  • Maintain dashboards, checklists, and portfolio best practice resources (wikis, templates, processes)
  • Support global teams with portfolio data collection and knowledge sharing
  • Lead or support wider projects designed to improve matter management and process efficiency

About you

This role would suit someone with strong organisational and analytical skills, who enjoys problem solving, working with data, and engaging with stakeholders at all levels. You don’t need prior legal experience - what matters is being proactive, detail-focused, and confident in working with busy professionals.

  • Confidence working with data, including Excel and SharePoint
  • The ability to influence and engage stakeholders effectively
  • Knowledge of project/matter management processes (advantageous but not essential)
  • A proactive, resilient mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
